Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide exceptional dance and performing arts education that promotes and establishes a positive, professional, and interactive community for students.
Vision Statement
We envision a tight-knit community sharing a passion for dance who eventually pursue their dreams and goals within the classroom and outside of it.
Our Dance Company
Legacy Performing Arts Company is situated in Gaithersburg, Maryland, catering to all the dance needs of our clients. We develop a fun and exciting atmosphere that allows each student’s creativity to flow and keeps their passion burning. We believe such an environment is vital for young people and adults to be better in all aspects of their life, not only with their art. In addition, we would love for all of our students to find their inner dancers/actors and walk away from every class feeling empowered and energized about their infinite potential as performers and individuals.
Our Dance Principles
Discipline
Dance is more than a hobby or art; it is also a discipline form, and we lead with this idea in mind, teaching students the importance of self-control and discipline, not only with dance but in all aspects of their life.
Teamwork
As much as dance is an individual hobby, it can also be a team sport. We aim to instill the value of teamwork and coordination through shared classes and group activities.
Self-expression
Dance, just like any art form, helps individuals express their emotions and convey a message to others creatively. With our classes, we strive to help individuals find their unique storytelling techniques.
Wellness and physical growth
Through dancing, everyone can achieve the health goals they desire. More than that, we also aid them in their journey to physical wellness and stability, so they may be more capable of taking on more tasks outside the classroom.
Message from the Director…
I began my dance training at the age of 5 in the Gaithersburg Area. I grew up studying Classical Ballet, Pointe, Broadway Jazz, Broadway Tap, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Throughout my years of dancing, I competed in many local and national dance competitions receiving several awards. I was introduced to competitive cheer in high school in addition to competing on my High School’s Team Step Team.
I studied dance and theater at Shaw University and Towson University where I received a Bachelor’s in Theater. While being a Company dancer, I had the privilege of performing in Theaters along the east coast. I have coached gymnastic, competitive cheer and dance. I travel to New York to train at Broadway Dance Center annually as well as Alvin Ailey’s Dance Theater and The American Ballet Theater.
I am thrilled to share my experiences in the performing arts and dance world with children and adults while preparing them for any endeavors they may desire in the future. I started Legacy Performing Arts Company to help make dreams come true.
